Sketch 16 Atlantic Hearts Challenge

Hello there again! The time is passing quickly and it is hard to believe that we are at sketch 16 over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. I hope you have been following along and trying out our sketch challenges. It is loads of fun and you just might get to have bragging rights of being chosen one of our top three. It is always such a hard choice since you all do such lovely work.I am rambling again(as usual), so I will get on with it. Here is my take on this weeks challenge.
I made this card for our darling grand daughter Arabella who will be 1 year old this week. She is certainly not going to be a frilly, pinky, kind of girl with both parents being the outdoor, bike riding, fishing, hunting couple that they are,so I tried hard not to go my usually route with  frilly lace and flowers. Although ,I did manage to sneak  some ribbon and  bling in there.I was given this little hunk of ribbon by a friend several months ago and was just waiting for the right opportunity to use it. I planned my card around the ribbon as well as the sketch. My card is a 5 x 7 . The colors I used were all from CTMH. They are,Daisy White, Twilight, Chocolate, Sunset , and the darkest brown found in the Tan and Brown Glitter Pack. These glitter packs come in green, black and grey, and brown and tan. There are 3- 12 x 12 sheets in each pack and are a great value for only 5.95. Be sure and check them out!!! I used the Cricut cartridge "Sweet Treat" for the cupcake and my Happy Birthday sentiment is from the stamp set called Joyful Birthday, also from CTMH. The bling is turquoise dew drops I purchased on line.
As you can see from the sketch, I turned it on its side and went for it. All you need to do, is use it as a jumping board to get you started. I hope you will give it a try if you have not joined us yet. All we hope for is that we  inspire you and that  you have fun. Have a great week and try to make good use of all your little bits and pieces.

  3. So stinkin' cute! I have a few little girls that are not "pink" girls so I understand the struggle not to make a frilly card. This turned out perfect.
