Musical Notes

Busy, busy, busy time of year for everyone, but there are soon to be some happy, happy, happy moms out their. Hopefully with school going back in, all you busy moms will get a little more me time, and come on over and join us at Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge. We have been having lots of fun all summer, and can't wait to see what every one submits for us to see. It is such a pleasure looking at all the entries. It is amazing that you can take one sketch and get so many different ideas from it!! This weeks sketch comes to you from one of our Design Team members, Carrie Wright. Isn't it darling!!

For anyone who follows along, you know by now, that I can't leave well enough alone, so I had to turn this sketch on its side, and do my own thing.

One of my sister's  is about to have a birthday so I made this card for her. She is musically talented, unlike her younger sister ( can't carry a tune and  I play no instruments). My sister sings, plays guitar, piano, dances, and is currently learning the harp. She makes me tired...........LOL. I wanted this card to be special for her, and I know that just any musical notes on it would not do. She would know if it was for Happy Birthday wouldn't she !!I downloaded the musical score from a free site, and sized it and copied it on to white card stock. My base card is 5 x 7. I used  black for the first layers, then paper from the Always and Forever paper pack from CTMH.  I was about to say, one of my favorite, but I love them all !!!!!
I cut the notes from the cartridge called Nifty Fifty. I placed a few inside the card as well. The ribbon was from my stash, and the pearls are from CTMH. The Happy Birthday is layered with black. I used pop ups on this as well as the musical notes to give them some dimension.
Even though this card was quick and easy, I know she will love the fact that it is just for her!! I hope you make cards for the special people in your life, and remember to make good use of all you bits and pieces.

  2. AWESOME musical birthday card. Your idea of downloading the actual music is brilliant--I will have to tuck that little nugget away for #2 son (who is studying music)'s birthday next month. Love this card!
