For My Friend

Here we are at sketch 41 for  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. We sure are coming up fast on our first year, aren't we !! This is so much fun, I am loving every minute of it !! Here is the sketch for this week, and as usual Michelle has out done herself and has come  up with an awesome one !!

The minute I looked at this sketch, my card came into my mind. It was just a matter of choosing a color scheme.
I have used this lace so often. It was a huge bundle that was in the bottom of a box of scraps I got at an auction a few years ago. I could not believe that I actually found a piece still left that was big enough to use!! This card was so simple and quick. Every bit of it (with the exception of the base card) was left overs from other projects!! The yellow is creme brulee , cut out with a border punch. It was then layered on to a pieces of cranberry(that was JUST wide enough to fit behind the hearts............LOL. I had little bits big enough to cut out the ovals from diecuts. The ribbon is left over CTMH grosgrain from a few years back. The bling and the brads again, in my stash from left over projects. I had a hard time to find three of those bards to match. You could use this as a Valentine card, or any occasion really. I made this one for my friends birthday coming up in a few weeks. I hope this shows you that you don't always have to have lots on hand and it is possible to make a decent card with bits and pieces !!
