Multi-layered flower

I was perusing the internet looking for something different to make in the line of flowers( you all know they are my passion) and I came across a little gem on Marie Paper Flower Tutorial . I fell in love with this flower, but was not all that keen on cutting the paper by hand, so I turned to the Art Philosophy cart from CTMH to find a substitute I could cut with my cricut. I cut out the snowflake that is one of the basic shapes ( on shift lock) from the AP cart. I cut 2 at 4", 1 at 3.5", and 1 at 3". The instructions called for eight petals, but with cutting the largest size twice, and off setting them, it did the trick.

Next I cut a rose shape, from the  Artiste cart,(also from CTMH) at 4.5".  It is your f  key, on Accent 1 .
I rolled my rose up with my quilling tool, glued it to the center base and set it aside. Next, I began  by shaping each snowflake. Using tweezers, I made  a  gentle fold slightly upward at the base of each arm of the snowflake, then at the rounded edge of each arm of the snowflake, made a gently fold toward the center. This will make the pointed edge form a little v pocket.  The next illustration  is of half the petal complete, to show where the folds are placed and what the snowflake should look like when folded and twisted.
I followed Marie's Video to twist each tip of the snowflake, and assemble my flower. My flower was used as a topper on a gift box for a friend. Hope you enjoy trying this  great project !!
I love doing black and white projects. Technically not colors but one of my favorite combos to use. I have entered this in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week. !!
