Happy New Year

Here we are at the beginning of a new year, with lots to look forward to. The last year has been very exciting one for me. I became an independent consultant  for Close To My Heart, started teaching classes and workshops, and became a member of the design team for Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge. , and learned to blog !! I am loving every busy minute of it. I would not have  come this far without the help and guidance of Michelle Stewart and Darla Haverstock ,  Without them I would not be blogging, nor would i be stepping outside my comfort zone as often as I have . Though I still have issues from time to time, they have brought me a long way. I also am here because of all the support from my friends, family and customers. I hope your past year has been exciting as mine, and  that the new year brings you health, happiness and most of all love.

Without further ado, here is this weeks sketch, # 37.
,
I have to say, Michelle really made me think outside the box on this one. I hope you like my take on this sketch.
I like a lacy look, but none of the lace I have in my stash did the trick. After much thought, I found these wonderful corner scrolls on a cartridge called Ornamental works. I was happy, but thought they needed some dimension. It does not show up in the pic, but I turned them over and using the large ball on a stylus, I drew over the middle of the entire design to give it a raised look. I was really happy with the results. The roses of course of are from the Art Philosophy cart. It is one of my favorites. The bling is also from CTMH and the riboon and hat pins are from my stash. Everything is layered on white that has been embossed with a geometric folder from Sizzix, then layered onto a soft pick cardstock before adhering to my 5 x 7 card.Once  I  got my head around how I was going to interpret  this sketch, I had fun with it. I hope you try your hand at the sketch, and that you make use of all your little bits and pieces.

                                                                 HAPPY NEW YEAR
