Valentine Love

Gearing up for Valentine's day is always fun. There is no greater joy for a card maker, than making cards for your loved ones. Whether that be your significant other, or your children or grandchildren,or a great friend, it is always done with much love. I made this one for my significant other of 41 years. we have had lots of good times and some really hard times, but I would do it all over again !! This one is for you hon !!
Here is sketch # 39 for Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge.
and here is my take  on this sketch
This was a bit of work, but so worth it. I was very happy with the out come. The back ground is black Glitter paper from Close To My Heart. For the heart design, I used the Artbooking cartridge, also from CTMH. I took the rectangle shape, and sized it to fit. (the card is 5x7 , the glitter is 6  7/8 x 4 7/8 ) so I sized the rectangle 6  3/4 x 4  3/4. Then using the heart overlay , I placed it on the rectangle where I wanted it , and cut. I did this twice. Once with the white card stock, and again with the pink card stock. I then placed the pink cut out, in the negative space on the white cardstock (and I have the left overs to do the same in the opposite colors !!). As you can see the black glitter shows through the open areas of the design. Working on the same principal, I cut a circle with the glitter paper, and then another slightly smaller with a heart cut out  in the center with the pink. I layered them, and then used the heart cut out to give it some pop. A little black netting with some hat pins to finish and voila !! Oh yes, and of course, since hubby is not a mushy kinda guy, just one word for him..........LOVE
The stamp set is Find Your style, also from, you guessed it, CTMH. I love their acrylic stamps. I think they are the best. The stamps , the paper, and the pricing were the reason I choose to become an independent consultant. It was a great decision, and I have never regretted it !  I hope you find time to make something special for your loved one, and don't forget to make good use of all your little bits and pieces !!
